Emma van der Meulen, a 22 years old student at University of Utrecht, will be conducting research into the cultural differences between India and The Netherlands among the Women on Wings human capital. Since Women on Wings works both with Dutch and Indian experts and consultants, it aims for maximum mutual understanding of the core values of both cultures.
The research question will focus on the cultural differences that Women on Wings contributors encounter during their work. What are the differences between the business mentalities? What can we learn from each other? By raising awareness and communicating about these differences, Women on Wings human capital will benefit from this knowledge.
Emma will be interviewing Women on Wings experts and consultants in The Netherlands and in India. The outcome of her research will be used to improve the current information set for new experts and consultants.
Next to her major studies in Political History and International Relations, Emma also studied Gender and Conflict studies (minor). Thanks to this combination, Emma has a broad and refreshing view on the interaction between culture, politics and economy. Started early November, Emma’s cultural research internship will span a period of three months, including a research trip to India.
