Women on Wings welcomes Shri Dharmasthala Siri Gramodhyoga Samsthe (SIRI) as new business partner. Currently 5,000 rural women are engaged with SIRI in the production of readymade garments, agarbathi (incense), cleaning material and in processing of pickles, squashes and savories.
Early July, Women on Wings worked with the SIRI management at its head office at Ujire near Dharamsthala, Karnataka. Shashank Teotia, senior business consultant at Women on Wings: “It was such pleasure working with the management. Their main objective is towards empowering rural women, and they are eager to improving the business results as they realize that that will ultimately impact more women. This first working visit we worked on aligning the Core Team to the organization’s objectives and planned targets. We will support SIRI charting out the business strategy and connecting it to the end consumer.”
The products are manufactured by SIRI directly and also through attached women who are organized through self- help groups. SIRI sells its products through multiple channels including exhibitions, institutional orders, own mobile van, wholesale, general trade and a network of own 12 retail outlets across the state of Karnataka.
