Krishna Weavers and Desert Artisans Jaipur – two COC’s that work for India’s largest retailer Fabindia – enjoyed fantastic results in the 2010/11 financial year. This was announced during the Annual General Meetings (AGM) held with large numbers of share holders over the past few weeks. Women on Wings works with both COC’s on improving their results and continuously monitors the action plans through regular Skype calls. William Bissell, Fabindia Overseas Pvt. Ltd. Managing Director, preside the AGM’s which were attended by both the management and shareholders of the COC’s.
Krishna Weavers has been very successful in introducing new designs for the finished products and fabrics, and sales have increased by over 30%. As a result, this was the first time that the dividend was paid out to the shareholders.
Desert Artisans Jaipur (DAH Jaipur) successfully introduced new products to its portfolio: home textiles, new range of furniture, giftware and organic food. Sales have increased by 41% over the last year and the dividend was paid out to its share holders. The share value also increased by 10%
