Unleash the full potential of all women in rural India

Since we were founded in 2007 we have co-created 395,831 jobs for women in rural India. Through our work we focus on the Sustainable Development Goals 8 and 10. For us, decent work and economic growth is a means to reach gender equality. And it is necessary. ‘The world is not on track to achieve gender equality by 2030. At the current rate, it will take 300 years to end child marriage, 286 years to close gaps in legal protection and remove discriminatory laws and 140 years to achieve equal representation in leadership in the workplace.’ (source: United Nations – The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2022)

Providing an income for rural Indian women has positive implications for their immediate well-being and better access to healthcare, nutrition and education. Empowering women with an income will not only transform her family’s lives, it will also trickle out to her community. It makes economic sense. It is the way to break the cycle of poverty. How we track progress and success

We have developed our impact measurement model in collaboration with EY and Erasmus University Rotterdam.

This model helps us evaluate the impact of our consultancy with Indian social enterprises and government institutions.

Apart from job growth, we experience more intangible results as well. The social entrepreneurs in India become more pragmatic, confident, energetic and satisfied with their entrepreneurship through interaction with Women on Wings experts. Their work in India enriches and gives the experts further purpose and meaning. Download the detailed mutual impact assessment report here.
