Women on Wings social enterprise partner since October 2022
ONganic Foods is a social enterprise that works with small and marginal organic farmers in East and North East India. It promotes sustainable agriculture practices through cultivation, processing and sales of indigenous organic and water responsible crops. ONganic Foods’ produce include rice, spices, oilseeds, cereals, herbs and sweeteners.
ONganic Foods’ wants to develop organic, sustainable, resilient and self-reliant rural communities in particularly East and North East India, and demonstrate that organic farming is a sustainable profession for smallholder farmers, aiming to positively impact the lives of 25,000 farmers by 2025.
ONganic Foods is headquartered in Kolkata and has an integrated supply chain, with own milling and processing which also provide jobs for rural women.
Since September 2022, Women on Wings and ONganic Foods are collaborating on their joint goal to increase the number of jobs and co-create livelihood opportunities for women in rural India where the social enterprise is working.
