Women on Wings social enterprise partner since September 2022
Prem Samriddhi Foundation has a clear mission: to organically conserve 1,000 varieties of indigenous seeds, by engaging 100,000 marginalized women farmers in indigenous seed cultivation.
Prem Samriddhi Foundation (Prem Samriddhi) was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Bundi, Rajasthan. It works on conservation and promotion of indigenous millets and seeds with small and marginalized women farmers. It provides holistic support services encompassing on-farm conservation and cultivation, capacity building, popularization of indigenous varieties, market linkages, participatory research and development.
Through promotion and conservation of these indigenous varieties the organization is increasing farm productivity and reducing the cost of cultivation. Prem Samriddhi is helping marginalized women farmers to improve the soil quality, creating indigenous multi crop systems to reduce single crop dependency. Also, it is creating awareness among consumers about health benefits of consuming indigenous seeds and millets to tackle the issue of nutrition deficiency.
Since September 2022, Women on Wings and Prem Samriddhi are collaborating on their joint goal to increase the number of jobs and co-create livelihood opportunities for women in rural India where the social enterprise is working.
