Women on Wings social enterprise partner since June 2020
Shree Panchamdas Organic Khadi Gramodhyog Seva Samiti (SPOKSS) makes organic cotton handmade fabric, called Khadi. From the same it makes readymade garment, gym wear, and home decor with handmade embroideries. It uses the leftover of -approved- organic dyes for the production of handmade incense sticks. SPOKSS sells its products under the brand name KOSH – the treasure of khadi.
SPOKSS works with a Muslim community and aims to revive traditional art. At the start of the collaboration with Women on Wings, 56 rural women were employed by SPOKKS. It aims to provide 800+ jobs to women and uplift 20 communities by 2025.
SPOKSS is founded by a young social entrepreneur from outside the sector but with a passion to bring about social change and a strong focus on women empowerment. It operates its business from Lucknow, the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The joint goal of Women on Wings and SPOKSS is to increase the number of jobs and create livelihood opportunities for women in rural India where SPOKSS is working.
